Support

Questions, bugs, or feature requests — email support@goodfocusapp.com. Beta testers can also send feedback straight from TestFlight, which attaches a screenshot and your system details automatically.

A bug report is much easier to act on with three things: what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead. Say whether it was the Mac or the iPhone, and which macOS or iOS version; that helps too.

Common questions

On the Mac, the app doesn't seem to open.

GoodFocus lives in the menu bar. There is no big window at launch — look for the icon in the menu bar at the top of your screen and click it. Right-click the icon for Time Tracked, which shows your stats, and for Settings. GoodFocus has no Dock icon unless you turn it on: Settings, Menu bar, "Hide the Dock icon".

Where is my data stored?

On your devices: on the Mac in GoodFocus's own storage, on the iPhone in the app's own storage, shared only with GoodFocus's widgets. When you're signed in to iCloud, your history is also kept in your own private iCloud storage, so your devices stay in step; we can't see it. Settings stay on each device. See the privacy policy.

Do my Mac and iPhone sync?

Yes, through iCloud, when both are signed in to the same Apple Account. Flows, rests, check-ins, and projects from one show up on the other, usually within moments of opening GoodFocus there. Your settings and the flow you're running right now stay on each device. Projects you had made with the same name on both devices become one. To see how it's going, open Settings > Your data > iCloud sync.

When does GoodFocus ask to send notifications?

On the iPhone it asks the first time you start a flow, never at launch. If you declined, you can turn them on in the iPhone's Settings under Notifications > GoodFocus; everything else works without them. The Mac app sends no notifications.

I can't see the flow on my Lock Screen.

Start a flow on the iPhone, then lock it. If the Live Activity doesn't appear, check that Live Activity is on in GoodFocus's Settings, under Lock Screen, and that Live Activities are allowed for GoodFocus in the iPhone's Settings.

How do I leave the beta?

Open TestFlight, select GoodFocus, and choose to stop testing. You can delete the app at any time; nothing is left behind on a server, because there is no server.
